Welcome to Kings Park Online  Vol. V Rolling Issues

Our Future Remembers...

Here we have a group of  6 year olds Girl Scouts, fashioned in the patriotic wrap of ol' glory. What's it all about? It is about keeping tradition and passing on our legacy, sentiment and memories. Surely they can not and do not fully understand the meaning of Memorial Day, the ravages of war, nor the baggage it carries; but then again neither can some ten times their age. But, what these little sponges will understand is what we teach them. And, although it may appear a bit contrived, all we can do is embrace them with our values and love and tutor them to navigate life's fragile paths.
It's about being 6 through 60-plus, walking hand and hand, without fear or frown to respectfully remember and honor those who gave their lives to protect our cherished freedom... that's what Memorial Day is all about?

Thank You!
To those souls who made the difference!

Budget Goes Back to Voters...

By Ken Kraska

The Kings Park Central School Board met with a group of approximately 120 people, a majority of which were school related personnel. During the question and answer several residents raised several concerns both pro and con. With a unanimous decision, the Kings Park Central School District School Board voted to submit a reduced budget in the amount of $56,600,930 to the taxpayers. The revised budget represents a reduction of $816,507 or 1.422% decrease from the original proposed and defeated budget of $57,417,437. A budget hearing to discuss the proposed budget is slated for Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at the Kings Park HS in Room 101.
