Home Town... Feel Good |
By Ken Kraska
|
|
Since his arrival in Kings
Park just a few years ago, Pastor Rick Crews and his congregation
have been leaving a positive mark on our community. Each year the
North Shore Baptist Church musters up a group of volunteers, not
only from our area, but from other parts of the country to take on a
community service task to make our town a little better place. This
year the Pastor engaged the help of the First Baptist Church of
Alexandria, Virginia to help spruce up the playgrounds at our
school. Pictured above at the Fort Salonga School is Pastor Crews
with the youth choir group from Alexandria. The volunteers painted a
new basket ball court and a variety of games on the black top play
area. According to the pastor, "It is the church's hope that the
teachers and students experience much enjoyment while playing these
games."
Thank You Pastor Rick for all your efforts and good deeds!

Where Does
The Time Go... |
By Ken Kraska
|
|
It is amazing how fast the
time goes by. Wasn't it only yesterday when we watch them say
goodbye for the summer to their favorite bus driver? I swear, the
days of summer seem to grow shorter and shorter each year.
No matter how short it felt, I hope everyone had
an enjoyable summer. I know I did!
Please Drive Carefully... And Watch Out For Our Children!

Appealing? |

May 27, 2005 |
Town of Smithtown files their lawsuit to block
the sale of the KPPC property to Arker Companies and their
affiliates. |
|
June 23, 2005 |
State Supreme Court Judge Donald Blydenburgh
lifted the temporary restraining order which blocked the sale
of the KPPC property. Denied the Town's request for a
temporary injunction and dismissed the case. |
|
June 28, 2005 |
In a unanimous vote the Town Board agrees to
appeal Judge Blydenburgh's decision and instructs their
attorneys to file for a temporary restraining order to block
the sale in the State's Appellate Division. |
|
Waiting |
Town is awaiting the Appellate Court's
decision. Should the town lose this battle, the sale of the
property would probably take place sometime in July.
CLOSING DELAYED
